Four Hills Music in North London
Founder and Director Martyn Stogden BA (Hons) Music & Lit

"Our team delivers an amazing, unique programme of performance-based music projects. We've helped people develop new skills and friendships that have touched and transformed lives.

We don't accept there are naturally 'musical' or 'gifted' people (and then the rest of us), rather we all have the ability to study, learn and express ourselves creatively. The 'myth of talent' is a convenient excuse for not following a dream. We look forward to working with you."

NLPO: North London People's Orchestra
the irresistible new force in classical music for the people of North London

Our symphony orchestra rehearsals take place on Thursday evenings at Oakwood Baptist Church, Merrivale, Southgate, London N14 4TE. We are currently looking for new members in most sections. For our first concert in November 2011, we totalled 50 musicians. We're aiming to double that in 2012.

Many NLPO members are mature learners returning to their instruments after a break, but we welcome experienced players and young people too: all that's needed is a positive attitude. No auditions. No barriers to entry.

English National Jazz Orchestra Pro Ensemble
Rehearsals as scheduled, by invitation and by application

ENJO is the UK's newest, most exciting educational jazz project. Through our academy bands, we provide weekly, professionally-led big band and jazz orchestra workshop sessions with plenty of performance opportunities for players and singers of all ages, current ability and experience. ENJO will grow into a strong network of fully accessible local projects in the capital, feeding into a central performance band to revitalise jazz education, composition and performance outside of the academic establishment.

ENJO Professional Ensemble is our flagship ensemble, drawn from the staff and senior membership of ENJO projects plus a wider circle of professional-standard players, currently rehearsing and aiming to become one of the country's top jazz orchestras.

We cater for all vocalists, saxes, trumpet, trombone, piano, bass, drums and latin percussion, guitar plus flute and clarinet doublers. Violin, viola, 'cello and double bass also welcome.

ENJO is a development of our established project, North London Jazz, now aiming to reach a wider membership and audience across the region and for performance across the UK.

We are aiming to launch a third, regular, London workshop base in East Finchley during 2012.
